Rebates & Incentives

Rebates and incentives from the federal stimulus program. Save energy. Save money. Reduce greenhouse gases.

North Little Rock has received approval from the US Department of Energy to spend $599,200 in funds from the federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, also known as the stimulus program.

The City received approval for eight different types of programs: some for homeowners; some for businesses of all sizes; some for large commercial and industrial businesses; and some to improve the infrastructure of the city’s electrical network.

Each part will help reduce greenhouse gases and improve energy efficiency.

Some programs are immediately in effect and others will be implemented in early 2010. Check back often for updated information.

Energy Saving Tip

Sweat a little: air conditioning can decrease your car’s fuel efficiency by as much as 12 percent in stop-and-go traffic. Crack your windows: at high speeds, driving with the windows open can decrease the overall efficiency of the vehicle. Roll up the windows and use the vents to get a good air flow. Even on the hottest days, keep your AC on low. At higher speeds, you can use the vents to get a good air flow, and on the hottest days keep your AC on low.

Always try to park in the shade. If a tree isn’t nearby, use a windshield shade to keep summer heat out of your car and help keep frost away in the winter.

Avoid making a trip every time you need an item from the grocery store. Buy in bulk and plan your menus ahead of time instead of at the last minute.
